Swacchta doot Foundation NGO Rig NO-MH/2021/0296524 organizes an insightful Recycling Awareness Trail for students, employees, and citizen groups to understand how Ulhasnagar manages its daily waste. Participants walk alongside local waste-pickers during their door-to-door collection rounds, gaining a first-hand view of household waste segregation and the efforts behind it.
This initiative promotes cross-community engagement, helping people understand the importance of waste segregation—not only for the environment but also as a source of livelihood for hundreds of waste-pickers in the city. The trail also includes a visit to a local Material Recovery Facility (MRF), where waste is sorted and prepared for recycling.
